Description: Prerequisite(s): Completion of GE Foundation courses with “C” or better. Junior or Senior standing. Critical study of mainstream culture industries (cinema, music, art, television) as they relate to youth culture, lifestyle trends, and media shifts in sociopolitical, economic, and ideological contexts. Includes cultural phenomena globalized through digital media that reshape contemporary social life. Letter grade only (A-F). (3 hours lecture discussion.)
